One might think that Paris Amour - Keren Ann's tenth studio album - is a film soundtrack. A film made of sensations and feelings, of sunny or stormy atmospheres, where a whole gallery of characters meet, intersect, love each other, of course, and sometimes ignore each other, at the turn of a phrase, a formula: friends, lovers, children, and even a purring cat. Sixties and especially seventies reminiscences of luxuriant pop mixed with electro or acoustic sounds, the production of this new album shows a sophisticated, original aesthetic quest, where nothing is too strong for the music to resonate, and above all, as a demanding musician, the songwriter has surrounded herself with a plethora of very high-level musicians.
