Kelsea - March 20, 2020Featured on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the most anticipated albums of 2020, this dynamic collection of 13 new songs from Kelsea Ballerini is aptly named: kelsea. Unsurprisingly, as it is her most authentic and introspective work to date. As the sole or co-writer of every track, she offers us a deep dive into the emotions of the past two years. Using writing as therapy, she explores varied themes, from social anxiety to the importance of genuine friendships, to a new perspective on old heartbreaks and the realization that even the most independent and stubborn people sometimes need someone. The collaborations on this album are, in her own words, "really awesome." Besides the iconic Nashville figures Shane Macanally, Hillary Lindsay, and Ashley Gorley, she also wrote with Ed Sheeran, Tayla Parx, and Julia Michaels. This is the first time Ballerini has taken on the role of producer for the entire project, co-producing every track. She let the songs define the album's sonic identity, which allowed for the exploration of a wide variety of production elements and styles. Ballerini also set the bar very high for collaborations with two artists on this album... To be continued.Ballerini - September 11, 2020After allowing her fans to get to know her better with the release of her third studio album, Kelsea Ballerini still has much to offer. She is set to release a new digital album, Ballerini, a raw and reinvented version of the 13 tracks from the original album, an approach that only the singer-songwriter can deliver. Recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic, Ballerini offers new versions of the 13 tracks originally recorded for Kelsea, including the hits "Homecoming Queen?", "The Other Girl (feat. Halsey)", and "Hole in the Bottle". These last two tracks are currently climbing the pop and country radio charts simultaneously.
