Description
After receiving a nomination for the Spellemannprisen (the Norwegian equivalent of the Victoires de la Musique) following a colossal fourth album, KEEP OF KALESSIN rose to the top of the charts. The heavy black outfit grew up sharing the same polluted air as Behemoth and Satyricon, but Reptilian shed its traditional black metal influences in favor of more epic atmospheres. While the album title refers to the band’s fantastical origins, the opening track “Dragon Iconography” emerges from the mist breathing fire and destroys everything in its path, leaving only smoldering embers and desolation.
