Description

The deluxe 10th anniversary edition of case/lang/veirs brings together the new unreleased track "Accidental Tattoo," twelve previously unreleased live recordings, and the original studio album signed by Neko Case, k.d. lang, and Laura Veirs. Released in 2016, this project remains a true meeting of three great singer-songwriters, each with a strong universe, but united here in collective writing and an equitable sharing of voices. The fourteen original tracks blend bright harmonies, folk, alternative country, and orchestral pop, exploring themes of loss, desire, transmission, and forgotten figures. Created over more than two years in Portland with producer Tucker Martine, the album was built without a preset plan, driven by the desire to create together and the trust in the strength of the trio. Upon its release, case/lang/veirs also received a warm critical reception in France, notably in Les Inrockuptibles and Rock&Folk, which praised the richness of this collaboration and the rare balance between three major voices in the independent folk scene. This reissue now allows us to rediscover a warm, elegant, and deeply human record, whose clarity has lost none of its power.
