The new soundtrack by Junkie XL after 300, Divergente and Mad Max: Fury Road for the latest Marvel Studios film Under his real name Tom Holkenborg, Dutchman Junkie XL was chosen to compose the film’s soundtrack, as he did for Fury Road a few months earlier. Revealed in 1988 by the new wave band Weekend at Waikiki and then through a few remixes, Junkie XL has been increasingly present in cinema since the adaptation of the video game Dead or Alive and frequently collaborates with Warner. The studio has indeed reused some of his music or called on him for The Dark Knight Rises and Man of Steel, before entrusting him with the scores for 300: Rise of an Empire, Night Run or Batman v Superman (alongside Hans Zimmer), scheduled for March 2016. A month earlier, the composer will therefore be featured on another superhero film, with heavy use of electronic music, his preferred field. Enough to give Deadpool a soundtrack that stands out from what is currently being done in the genre, and confirm the unique status of the Marvel and Fox character.
