If the first signs of danger appeared as early as the late 90s, it took until 2007 to officially record the first victim: Junior Makhno had just won a remix contest organized by Dj Muggs (Cypress Hill), devastating the competition. From then on, the rhythmic plague never stopped spreading through hip hop, increasing its vigor with each of his productions, eventually crossing the Atlantic and contaminating albums by Ill Bill, Goretex (Non Phixion), Vinnie Paz, Jedi Mind Tricks, and Diabolic. No shine, no calibrated choruses. No attempt at smoothed-out arrangements. With his Soviet synths, his otherworldly beats swinging Z-movie scalps, and his oppressive loops cut from soul or war brass, the Makhno style oozes both the street and post-apocalyptic atmospheres. The MC who inoculates himself with one of his beats must abandon any idea of stepping into the booth to croon or tell sweet nothings. Also, when it came time to step into the light to expose his devastating effects and release an album under his own name, Junior Makhno rallied behind him a cohort of MCs ready to brutalize the instrumental, to rasp the bassline, to hit the beats without looking back, without worrying about the damage caused. Ill Bill, Diabolic, and Goretex answered the call once again, joining the new followers Lateb, Chief Kamachi, Dirt Platoon, Vic Spencer, Vendetta Kingz, Planet Asia, IDE & Alucard, Esoteric & Vakill. Rhyming with the deleterious drip placed in their arm by Junior Makhno, willingly becoming the actors of the fourteen tracks of Party Discipline. Fourteen tracks that the agitated cuts of Dj Djaz and DJ Nix'On keep under tension, fourteen suffocating tracks where even the instrumental breaks don't allow for a saving breath of fresh air.
