An album centered on the unique and spiritual music of John Coltrane. The Jultrane Quartet was born in 2018 from this shared love of John Coltrane’s music. On his first album “Creation,” released in 2022 as a sextet, Julien introduced himself to us through his compositions. For this second record, one thing became clear to him: to tackle the repertoire of his spiritual master John Coltrane through lesser-known and less frequently played compositions such as Mr Knight, Wise One, Welcome, Song of Praise, and After the rain. In this way, Jultrane further embraces his love and boundless admiration for John Coltrane. Saxophonist, writer and composer Julien Ndiaye (Jultrane) is an artist with an intense stage presence and infectious energy. His musical world is deeply rooted in jazz, while also incorporating Afro-Cuban influences and the African music that shaped his childhood.
