CD in jewel case 16-page booklet 17 tracks 17 years ago, Julien won Nouvelle Star 2007. Revisiting other people’s songs, by transforming the approach to them, was deeply new at the time. “Imposteur” is a full-circle moment almost 20 years later; has the hair clip rusted in this hair that has grown, in an era that no longer knows how to distinguish the fake from the real, the beautiful from the ugly, imposture from legitimacy. Linking the present moment to the history of memories. That’s what Imposteur is, ultimately. Months of work in the studio, chatting on Instagram or Whatsapp with K-maro, Sharon Stone, the L5, Philippe Risoli, Francis Cabrel and so many others to tell them about the idea for a project, the desire to play with the timelessness of their songs, to invite them to sing others, or simply share a moment.
