A time marked by several releases from Judas Priest considered the best albums in the history of heavy metal ("British Steel" in 1980 and "Screaming for Vengeance" in 1982), the Birmingham band knew that their next album had to live up to the public's expectations to solidify their position as leaders of metal. Expectations met with flying colors with the release in 1984 of "Defenders Of The Faith," certified platinum, whose classics 'Freewheel Burning', 'Jawbreaker', 'The Sentinel', 'Some Heads Are Gonna Roll', and 'Love Bites' have made more than one headbanger! On March 9, 2015, a new triple CD long version of the album will be released via Columbia/Legacy. In addition to containing the ten original tracks remastered by producer Tom Allom, the beast will offer a complete live recording from the "Defenders" tour, recorded on May 5, 1984, at the Long Beach Arena in California. The concert, lasting 21 tracks (on CDs 1 and 2), perfectly balances the new songs from the band's ninth studio album and classics like 'Metal Gods', 'Breaking the Law', 'Sinner', 'Electric Eye', 'The Green Manalishi (With the Two-Pronged Crown)', 'Victim of Changes', and 'You've Got Another Thing Coming', among others. As written by the band in the booklet of this reissue: "Thirty years have passed since the release of 'Defenders of the Faith' - We are very proud to say that it is a classic loved by Priest fans around the world."
