Joss Stone recorded her 4th album "Colour me Free" at Mama Stones, the studio/concert hall complex run by her Mom in Wellington (England). Co-producer of her album with songwriters Jonathan Shorten and Conor Reeves, who have already worked on the multi-platinum "Mind, Body & Soul," Joss Stone wanted to make a more raw record than the previous ones. A rich blend of soul, pop, R&B, funk, hip-hop, and gospel sounds, "Colour me Free" features prestigious guests: Jeff Beck and Sheila E. on "Parallel Lines," Raphael Saadiq on "Big Ole Game," Nas on "Governmentalist," and saxophonist David Sanborn on the track "I Believe it to my Soul."
