Don Giovanni or "The Libertine Punished." This is the title of perhaps the most famous opera by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, which remains one of his most beloved works to this day. It is nicknamed "the opera of operas." Here it is in a phenomenal interpretation by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of the legendary Josef Krips. Featuring Cesare Siepi, Suzanne Danco, Lisa della Casa, Fernando Corena, Anton Dermota, Hilde Gueden, Walter Berry, and Kurt Böhme. Recorded in 1955 by the Vienna Philharmonic under the baton of a great Mozartian, Josef Krips, a native of Vienna and Viennese at heart, this recording is part of the great reference versions.
