With his 2nd album for Deutsche Grammophon, the American-Chilean tenor Jonathan Tetelman pays tribute to Puccini, whose centenary of passing will be marked in 2024.
The Great Puccini features excerpts from nine operas, including famous arias like "Nessun dorma," "Che gelida manina," and "E lucevan le stelle," as well as hidden gems from lesser-known operas like "Le villi" and "La rondine." The album was recorded in Prague at the beginning of the year with the PKF - Prague Philharmonia under the direction of Carlo Rizzi and includes remarkable appearances by sopranos Vida Mikneviciute (Giorgetta in Il tabarro) and Federica Lombardi (Mimì in La bohème).
