Known for his distinctive blend of hip-hop and jazzy beats, and just coming off recent releases with Javotti, including The Confidence of Knowing with Talib Kweli, Midnight Angel with Solene Velvet, and The Optimist’s Son with Niko IS, Rawls returns to his roots. Although his iconic style has placed him in the same category as peers like Fat Jon, Nujabes, and other figures from the early 2000s underground scene, Rawls is often regarded as one of the founding fathers of LoFi Hip Hop.
