Originally from Macclesfield in Cheshire and having grown up in Cheadle Hulme, John Mayall had already made a name for himself on the Manchester blues scene before moving to London in 1963 at the urging of Alexis Korner. John Mayall and Keef Hartley recorded The Blues Alone in a single day at the Decca Studios in Broadhurst Gardens in May 1967. Entirely self-written, Mayall plays everything except the drums and creates a dense and unique approach to the blues. While it may lack the virtuosic solos of previous albums, it compensates with its atmosphere, talent, and passion. This reissue faithfully reproduces the original 1967 stereo release produced by Decca Records UK and is pressed on high-quality 180g vinyl.
