John Lewis, one of the most elegant and sophisticated pianists, rose to the top of the jazz world as the frontman of the legendary Modern Jazz Quartet. This album includes the complete sessions recorded in Paris on December 4 and 7, 1956, by Lewis's quintet with French guitarist (and singer, though he doesn't sing here) Sacha Distel, tenor saxophonist Barney Wilen, bassists Percy Heath and Pierre Michelot, and drummers Kenny Clarke and Connie Kay.
