Tin Man

Description

John Edwards' early tracks, primarily released on Aware Records under the direction of Floyd Smith, delighted soul enthusiasts with his masterful voice and impressed the million-selling group The Spinners enough for them to hire him as a replacement for Philippe Wynne. Edwards' early hits at Aware, such as "Stop This Merry-Go-Round" and "Careful Man," led to the release of his self-titled debut album and the recording of a second album; however, the bankruptcy of Aware put an end to that project. When the original tapes were found in the 90s, the tracks were released on the CD *Careful Man* (Kent label, 1996) and a few singles came out, achieving great success. These tracks are finally gathered on vinyl, allowing listeners to appreciate the beauty of songs like "Tin Man," "How Can I Go On Without You," and "Cold Hearted Woman" as they were originally conceived. Modern soul fans can finally rest easy.
