"Lost Themes was, above all, about pleasure," Carpenter explains. "Composing music for visuals can be both great and painful, which I'm used to. Here, there was no pressure. No actors asking me what they should do. No crew to wait for. No editing room. No imminent release. It was just fun. And I couldn't have asked for better conditions: I could count on Cody (Carpenter, from the band Ludrium) and Daniel (Das, who composed the music for I, Frankenstein) to bring me ideas as we improvised. The goal was to make my music more complete and richer, thanks to an unlimited number of tracks. I was no longer working solely with isolated pieces. It was a whole new world. And initially, we only had one idea in mind: to create a melancholic atmosphere."
