"Fragments of A Rainy Season" is the first live solo and "unplugged" album by John Cale recorded in 1992, before the term was popularized by MTV in the mid-90s. A stripped-down orchestration that breathes new energy into the compositions, thus celebrating all of John Cale's talent. All the great moments of his discography are evoked: from "Paris 1919" to "Words For The Dying" through "Wrong Way Up" and "Songs For Drella". Sometimes considered his best album, Fragments of a Rainy Season is indeed the perfect introduction to John Cale's discography. Includes the famous cover of Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah', whose arrangements in this recording greatly influenced Jeff Buckley's version.
