John Cale is a British singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. Throughout his career, he has explored a wide range of musical genres and collaborated extensively, but it was rock, and particularly his brief stint with The Velvet Underground, that brought him fame. Terry Riley is an American composer who is considered one of the founders of minimalist and repetitive music. In 1970, the two musicians recorded this superb album for CBS.
