The State Of The Tenor - Front Cover
Joe Henderson

The State Of The Tenor

Description

A symbol of a Be Bop that lets Hard Bop peek through, and a virtuoso of the sax, Joe Henderson accompanied some of the greatest, such as Herbie Hancock, Horace Silver, and Mc Coy Tyner. Released in 1986, this “Audiophile” vinyl perfectly captures the concert given at the Village Vanguard alongside Ron Carter and drummer Al Foster. Alongside his forays on other artists’ projects, he worked to leave behind a body of work under his own name for more than thirty years.
