THE WARM WORLD OF/THE MAN WHO INVENTED BOSSA NOVA COMPLETE RECORDINGS 1958-1961/180 GR GATEFOLD SLEEVE

Description

João Gilberto, full name João Gilberto Prado Pereira de Oliveira, is a Brazilian musician considered to be the main creator of bossa nova. He achieved great success in Brazil with the song Chega de Saudade in 1958. It was truly in 1962 that his success became international with his rendition of Garota de Ipanema, accompanied by Stan Getz, which has now become an international song sung in several languages by many prestigious artists such as Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, and Ella Fitzgerald. Nowadays, João Gilberto continues to give concerts around the world. João Gilberto is also the father of Brazilian singer Bebel Gilberto. Includes a very rare version of "Este Seu Olhar" for the 1st time on CD! This edition features 39 original recordings covering the years 1958 to 1961. The brilliant João Gilberto is accompanied by the orchestra conducted by the equally brilliant Antônio Carlos Jobim. This edition is pure joy!
