Joan Baez Vol. 2 - Vinyle Transparent

Description

When this second album was released in 1961, Joan Baez was already a star, having gone from the small, hip folk scene of Greenwich Village to a gold record and widespread public recognition. Here again, she performs a collection of traditional Anglo-Saxon folk songs. Classics like "Barbara Allen" or "Banks Of The Ohio," to which she adds one of the most famous French songs, "Plaisir D'Amour," composed in 1784. She illuminates this repertoire with her luminous interpretation, full of softness and ethereal vibrato. On two tracks, she is accompanied by a New York bluegrass band, The Greenbriar Boys. Pressed on clear vinyl.
