Originally scheduled for release on January 23rd Jimmy Smith’s first album for Verve, recorded in 1962, Bashin’ features the organist in two very different settings—the first with a big band led by Oliver Nelson (including up-and-coming trumpet player Doc Severinsen), and the second with Smith's usual trio of Quentin Warren (guitar) and Donald Bailey (drums). Acoustic Sounds Series 180-gram vinyl edition, mastered from the original analog tapes, presented in a gatefold jacket.
