It is through the Parisian blues scene that they frequently attend that two music enthusiasts, Jessie Lee (vocals, guitar) and Alexis Didier aka Mr AL. (guitar), meet in 2011. They form an initial blues-rock cover band, and soon, original compositions emerge, leading to a growing desire to create an original formation that would encompass all their musical influences. Thus, in 2014, the duo becomes a quartet, with the arrival of a solid rhythm section with unstoppable grooves: Laurent Cokelaere (bass) and Julien Audigier (drums) support Jessie Lee's powerful voice and Alexis's incisive guitar riffs and solos, soon joined by keyboardist Laurian Daire, who subtly enhances the whole and completes the chemistry of the now quintet. At the heart of the Anglo-Saxon music they grew up with and to which they pay tribute in their own way, the five playmates, with strong musical and artistic personalities spanning three generations, draw their inspiration and energy. In service of original compositions, they blend their experiences and concoct a clever mix of blues, soul, rock, and jazz, with these various musical traditions serving as solid foundations for a modern and original music where nostalgia only plays a role as a driver of creativity. After three years of existence marked by numerous concerts, recording a first album becomes urgent. Here it is: Jessie Lee & The Alchemists brings together all the influences of these exceptional musicians. Rock and blues are the pillars for form and energy, mixed with groove, jazz, and soul. An authentic and creative music, where song meets improvisation, and where energy is nourished by nuances. Notably, the album consists of 10 original tracks and a cover of Robert Johnson.
