Geoffroy Laporte, aka Jessica93, once again stands alone against all, playing solo, perched on a drum machine with pre-war patterns from Golf. Blending grunge, shoegaze, and cold, he alternates between bass and guitar to build harsh, saturated loops, over which he softly screams. In his first effort, Jessica93 celebrated Omar Little, the gay bandit from HBO's Baltimore; here, he begins his 666 laps around the périphérique at Porte de Pantin, where Florence Rey, dubbed by the press as the "born killer" or the "cop killer," took a turn. The previous album was marked by bedbugs; this one primarily speaks of love, a delightful plague just as hard to eradicate. A tour is scheduled for the fall, culminating at La Maroquinerie on November 8, and for those who have seen him live, one trembles at the thought of him getting up the next day and driving 300 kilometers to do it all over again…
