Surrealistic Pillow

Description

A landmark album of American counterculture and the California hippie movement, Jefferson Airplane's second record is not just a simple outdated hippie manifesto. No! Surrealistic Pillow is a true psychedelic symphony of flavors. With this immensely popular album driven by the anthem Somebody To Love and the fabulous ode to artificial paradises symbolized by White Rabbit (that voice of priestess Grace Slick!), the Airplane weaves between the giants Stones and Beatles to offer a layered rock infused with folk and pop. Of rare formal complexity, Surrealistic Pillow alternates between cheerful melodies (My Best Friend), virginal ballads (Comin' Back To Me), and psychedelic orgies (3/5 Of A Mile In 10 Seconds) with formidable ease.
