This box set brings together the main recordings made in France by pianist Sylvie Carbonel during her career. It includes approximately 7h30 of INA recordings, mostly live captures from Radio France at the Maison de la Radio for France Musique or France Culture, made between 1963 and 2008, and 2 hours of studio recordings. Sylvie Carbonel performs solo, in chamber music with partners as prestigious as Michel Portal, Alain Marion, American violinist Nina Bodnar Horton, or cellists Roland Pidoux and Hervé Derrien, as well as as a soloist with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France.
In addition to the retrospective of a renowned performer, who had a brilliant international career from 1975 to 2000, mainly in America and Europe, this box set highlights French and romantic repertoires, and also presents many works that are quite rarely recorded: the magnificent Trio op.8 by Frédéric Chopin, so rarely played, the Flute and Piano Sonata by Weber, the complete set of 10 Pièces pittoresques by Chabrier, the complete set of Seventeen Pieces by Moussorgsky (recorded in world premiere), Le Cahier de Musique by Jacques Desbrière, El Pelele by Granados (Goyescas), pieces by Olivier Messiaen, Charles-Valentin Alkan, Georges Hugon, Alain
