François Ier : Musiques d'un règne - 2 CD, inclus livre

Description

François Ier, a patron of the arts, understood how much music could serve his policy of prestige: - official music for major diplomatic events such as the incredible musical contest between the Chapel of the King of France and that of Henry VIII of England, during the mass of the Camp du Drap d'Or recreated in this recording; - but also intimate music with the most subtle, refined and learned repertoire heard in the sovereign’s castles of Chambord, Fontainebleau... performed by the finest singers and instrumentalists of the kingdom gathered within the Chambre du Roy. A feast of previously unreleased music for a king, François Ier, symbol of a happy Renaissance.
