"Jazz For Fogs" is an album "about dogs," their daily lives, and their need to finally listen to music with suitable lyrics; ideal when their owners are away, as the radio is too general. Of course, what applies to dogs also applies to humans! "Jazz For Dogs" is therefore also for humans who have purchased the album for their dog! This cinematic jazz project is presented and performed by Kimiko Ono, Jean-Michel Bernard, and Charles Papasoff; it is illustrated notably by Michel Gondry and several guests are featured on the album including Fanny Ardant as a narrator as well as the concert artist Laurent Korcia. Includes a 24-page booklet. Jean-Michel Bernard, who accompanied Ray Charles at the end of his life, is especially known for his film scores, some of which have been performed by Kimiko Ono: "The Science of Sleep" by Michel Gondry, "Cash" by Eric Bernard, Love Punch by Joël Hopkins... Charles Papasoff, for his part, is a recognized artist in Canada both for his performances with his jazz quartet in which he plays the baritone saxophone and for his work as a composer for film ("Bumrush" by Michel Jetté, "The Moon Will Come by Itself" by Marie Jan Seille...) and contemporary dance ("Ulysses," "More Alone than in Solo" for the compagnie système D). To accompany them, the trio called upon a luxury combo composed of Basile Leroux on guitars, Philippe Chayeb on bass and double bass, Claude Salmieri on drums, and Marc Chantereau on percussion. The album was presented live in preview on 20/03 at the Aubagne Film Festival.
