Flute Concertos from the Netherlands: Coenen, Wilms, Verhey
Description
In the Netherlands, during the first half of the 19th century, musical life was still in its infancy. There were no internationally renowned orchestras, and the line between inspired amateur musicians and professional musicians remained blurred. Two musicians, Johann Wilhelm Wilms (1772-1847) and Johannes Meinardus Coenen (1825-1899), played an important role in the gradual emergence of professional musical life. The music of Theodoor Verhey (1848-1929) favors classical forms and clear harmonies; his flute concertos are distinguished by their elegant simplicity, virtuosic writing, and frequent use of the gypsy style (alla zingara).Buy Flute Concertos from the Netherlands: Coenen, Wilms, Verhey at the best price
