Quintette à cordes - La nuit transfigurée

Description

Violinist Janine Jansen celebrates the tenth anniversary of the Utrecht-based International Chamber Music Festival with this new album, which brings together two of the finest chamber music works ever written: Franz Schubert’s sublime String Quintet in C major and Arnold Schoenberg’s Verklärte Nacht. On this album, recorded during a concert in Dortmund in May 2012, Janine Jansen is accompanied by an exceptional group of musicians, close friends, including members of Spectrum Concerts Berlin, a prestigious German chamber ensemble with which Janine has been playing since 1998. Among these musicians are Swedish cellist Torleif Thedéen and Ukrainian violist Maxim Rysanov, both of whom joined Janine on her Bach album in 2007. Also featured are Russian violinist Boris Brovstyn, Israeli violist Amihai Grosz and German cellist Jens Peter Maintz. “Superb, breathtaking” - The Independant “Irresistible” - The Guardian
