Texas singer-songwriter Jana Horn releases her second album The Window is The Dream on No Quarter, an album like a field of Rothko-esque colors set to music. A record that ventures even deeper into Jana's inner space than her first album Optimism (2021). The Window Is The Dream was primarily written in a single room. When you have nowhere to go, you delve into the memories of dreams… Jared Samuel Elioseff recorded most of the album at the Pale Moon Sessions in Cambridge, New York, with additional recordings taking place with Craig Ross at Studio 4 in Austin, Texas. Other collaborators from the time when Jana was part of the Austin scene – Adam Jones, the drummer for Bill Callahan, and experimental guitarist Jonathan Horne, to name a few – brought another type of creativity during the downtime. The Window Is The Dream is an entry into a world that is unique to Jana Horn, where words and music serve only to highlight the spaces in between. The magic lies in the sensation of space, in the anticipation of what comes next.
