The cellist Jan Vogler teams up with the fantastic Finnish guitarist Ismo Eskelinen on his new album, Songbook. This album features a series of pieces originally composed for the two instruments, such as the three nocturnes by Burgmüller, or the first movement of the Sonata for guitar and cello by Brazilian composer Radamés Gnattali, but also well-known works in new arrangements for cello and guitar: the Cantabile by Paganini, the Gymnopédie No. 1 by Satie (arranged by Vogler himself), and the Air from Bachianas Brasileiras by Villa-Lobos. It also includes some movements from the Histoire du Tango by Piazzolla, including Bordel 1900, which is its first worldwide recording for cello and guitar.
