The former singer/guitarist of Reuben returns with a new album featuring sharp, masterful riffs. As the former singer-guitarist of the trio Reuben, he established himself as a key figure in the English post-hardcore scene alongside Biffy Clyro and Million Dead. The Brit is back with a second solo album. After a break during which he returned to his work as a freelance graphic designer for The Guardian, he returned to music in 2011 with Muscle Memory (Xtra Mile, 2013), an astonishing double album blending folk, blues, and thrash metal that was praised by the specialized media. He now returns with Devolver, for which he collaborated with Space, producer of Prodigy and Idles' album Brutalism, in his studio in Guildford. These 11 new tracks showcase the fire and fervor of an electrified Jamie Lenman returning to his post-hardcore roots with a powerful voice and explosive riffs, while also exploring territories outside his comfort zone by adding a danceable character to the rhythms and incorporating electronic sound elements for the first time.
