Rebellion
Description
Jah Woosh was one of the most influential reggae DJs of early Jamaican music, emerging in the 1970s at a time when the art of toasting was establishing itself as an essential component of reggae. Born Neville Beckford in Kingston, he first gained recognition as a sound system DJ before breaking through with the powerful single "Angela Davis". In the mid-1970s, he recorded numerous tracks for producers such as Rupie Edwards, Clive Chin, Keith Hudson and Channel One, releasing a series of influential singles and albums. His first album, Jah Woosh, reached number one on the reggae charts and established him as a major figure of the era. The album Rebellion also features singer Sis Bee, whose energetic responses to Jah Woosh's tracks bring a unique dynamic. Later, through his collaboration with Adrian Sherwood and the Creation Rebel collective, Jah Woosh remained a key figure in roots reggae.Buy Rebellion at the best price
