Jacques Berthier - Anthologie

Description

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the death of Jacques Berthier, here is a tribute through a 6-CD box set spanning his entire body of work in the fields of liturgical chant, instrumental music, organ music, and sacred music. In this tribute box set, discover the different facets of Jacques Berthier’s work. The composer to whom we owe the essential Taizé repertoire, whose refrains, canons, and litanies are sung at Taizé and throughout the world. The composer of liturgical songs who knew how to create a repertoire whose melodies and vocal or instrumental parts have always been within the reach of the majority of parish congregations. The one from whom many monastic communities commissioned hymns, offices, etc. But also the composer of more elaborate music, whose inspiration and talent as an organ improviser were particularly recognized by Olivier Messiaen.
