Trente ans après sa disparition, Warner Classics rend un vibrant hommage à la violoncelliste Jacqueline Du Pré avec une nouvelle compilation à petit prix de ses enregistrements légendaires. Élève de Tortelier, Casals et Rostropovitch, la jeune musicienne donne son premier concert soliste en 1961 mais son éblouissante carrière est cruellement stoppée par la maladie dès 1972. Malgré cette brièveté, sa discographie est extrêmement riche. Cette compilation, remasterisé en 24 Bit/96 kHz dans les célèbres studios londoniens d'Abbey Road, s'emploie à nous faire revivre l'émotion qu'insufflaient les interprétations pleine de vie de celle qui fut surnommée pour son incroyable talent « la Ginette Neveu du violoncelle ».
