Thirty years after her passing, Warner Classics pays a heartfelt tribute to cellist Jacqueline Du Pré with a new budget-priced compilation of her legendary recordings. A student of Tortelier, Casals, and Rostropovich, the young musician gave her first solo concert in 1961, but her brilliant career was cruelly cut short by illness as early as 1972. Despite its brevity, her discography is extremely rich. This compilation, remastered in 24-bit/96 kHz at London's famous Abbey Road Studios, aims to help us relive the emotion instilled by the vibrant interpretations of the woman dubbed "the Ginette Neveu of the cello" for her incredible talent.
