Description
Beatitudes is the new beat tape by J.Rocc for Stones Throw, which follows his full album, A Wonderful Letter, released earlier this year on the label.Beatitudes refers to the artist's journey as a DJ and turntablist and consists of ten instrumental hip-hop tracks inspired by 20th-century gospel recordings.
The cover is a tribute to the work of a painter known only as Harvey, an artist who created nearly 200 covers in the 1960s for gospel and jazz albums on Savoy Records and its subsidiary labels Gospel, Regent, and Sharp.
