The secret Fauré III: sacred vocal works - requiem

Description

Ivor Bolton continues his exploration of the hidden side of Fauré. The first two volumes of the project dedicated to Fauré's unknown orchestral works have been praised by the specialized press, and Bolton returns to record the world premiere of the Prelude for La Passion, N 109, written for the eponymous play by Edmond Haraucourt. The album will also feature a reimagined version of the famous Requiem, based on a new score including previously unheard orchestral passages, and an instrumental version of the Cantique de Jean Racine, for organ and string quintet. Ivor Bolton and the Sinfonieorchester once again reconcile love for the unheard and accessibility, successfully achieving the feat of rediscovering a Fauré that is nonetheless familiar.
The Sinfonieorchester Basel is one of the oldest and most creative Swiss orchestras, with an international reputation. It notably won a Diapason d'or in 2004. Ivor Bolton is the conductor of the Sinfonieorchester Basel and artistic director of the Teatro Real in Madrid. He has notably won the prestigious Bayerische Theaterpreis for his work at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich.
