Intronaut is one of those bands offering both powerful music that is typically metal, drawing on references from the past and present, while adding a few subtle touches of jazz and prog without ever being pompous or impromptu. With "The Direction Of Last Things," Intronaut succeeds in perfecting its recipe. There, where fans of technical death (Cynic, Atheist, Coroner) find their satisfaction with very marked jazz and progressive influences - metalcore fans also find themselves with airy and melodic passages reminiscent of the atmospheres of Neurosis or Isis.
