Once upon a time, there were two men, one wrote from left to right, the other from right to left. - - One plays electric to make six strings sound, to tune twelve strings the other needs time. - - Their meeting in Damascus was a wonder, where alternately one was a weaver creating fabrics, and the other was a sculptor and painter of atmospheres. Each in turn, a sailor navigating by the wind, or a caravan leader orienting himself by the stars. (Hajjan). Four albums were born from this, First Day of Promise, Second Day of Invitation, the Third was Waiting, Fourth Day a Tale. - - The Fifth Day will be a synthesis, composed of ‘wa?la’, or ‘suites’ in French. - - Each ‘wasla’ is a suite of songs connected by a tonality and a leitmotif, where, like in the Sufi ‘Sama’, the energy rooted deep in the earth in serene calm gradually unfolds, rising towards the sky, as branches of trees bloom lightly as they reach the ether. - - ‘Wa?alat’ like a breath, the first gesture of the living.
