Continuing its mission to introduce classics to a modern audience, Tresor Records celebrates the 30th anniversary of The Infiniti Collection with a remastered and expanded edition of this legendary compilation by Infiniti, alias of Detroit techno pioneer Juan Atkins. Available on vinyl for the very first time, this compilation is a true gem. Originally assembled in the mid-90s, The Infiniti Collection brings together tracks recorded by Atkins under the name Infiniti on various labels, offering a unique and cohesive listening experience. While his work as Model 500 explored the electro-funk that laid the foundations of Detroit techno, Infiniti embodied a deeper and more playful side, focused on a techno that was then emerging and rapidly expanding. This collection bears witness to Atkins’ most exploratory period: futuristic, hypnotic, and undeniably human despite its mechanical architecture. This compilation gathers some of Atkins’ most essential tracks, with titles such as “Sunlight”, “Flash Flood” and Moritz von Oswald’s deep dub remix of “Think Quick”. With the reissue of Skynet by Infiniti, a significant part of the Infiniti catalog is now available on Tresor, forming a definitive archive. The Infiniti Collection will be available from October 30 on triple vinyl.
