Founder of the Italian ensemble Il Giardino Armonico, which has been shaking up the baroque world since its inception in 1985, the virtuoso flutist and conductor Giovanni Antonini boasts an impressive discography. He has started a complete recording of the 107 symphonies by Joseph Haydn with Alpha Classics in anticipation of the composer's 300th anniversary in 2032. Il Giardino Armonico here celebrates a composer who has also contributed to its fame: Antonio Vivaldi. With Antonini as the soloist, this is a selection of Concerti per Flauto recorded between 2011 and 2017, inspired by his creativity: RV 433, “La Tempesta di Mare”, 441, 442, 443, 444, 445… and a remarkable version of the famous "Cum Dederit" from Nisi Dominus RV 608, featuring the chalumeau, the ancestor of the clarinet.
