Pianist Igor Levit, conductor Christian Thielemann and the Vienna Philharmonic present, in a first joint recording, the two piano concertos by Brahms. This is a triple CD featuring Igor Levit's recording of Brahms's late works for solo piano, op. 116-119. As an encore, Levit and Thielemann perform together Brahms's Waltz for four hands op. 39/15 by Brahms. After the performance in Vienna in April 2024, the Viennese newspaper The Standard wrote: "During these fifty minutes, an irresistible dose of emotion was conveyed - but at the same time, the sophisticated structure of Brahms's masterpiece remained crystal clear." The album is released on Sony Classical.
