Raw Power

Description

Considered the Godfathers of punk, Iggy Pop and his Stooges would make it through the crucial transition from the 60s to the 70s unscathed, and would even establish themselves as icons of an emerging new, hard-edged rock scene. With Raw Power, the band delivers the anthem of a nascent punk movement by imposing their “Search & Destroy,” which would very quickly become a cult favorite for a generation of rockers. The first musical encounter between Iggy Pop and David Bowie, Raw Power would outline the contours of an artistic relationship between the two geniuses. - ("excerpt from the Fnac Ideal Record Collection guide")
