Ida Haendel : Concertos pour violon

Description

Ida Haendel was a phenomenon. The grande dame of the violin continued to serve on juries for renowned competitions and to teach great violinists at a very advanced age, while always maintaining mental freshness and physical ability to continue her tours with spirit and energy. The recordings of the concertos by Mendelssohn, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Khachaturian, Dvorak, and Bartók played in early 1967 under the baton of Hans Müller-Kray, then conductor of SWR (SDR at the time), are among the greatest treasures of the SWR archives.
