'Abducted' is the fourth studio album by the melodic death metal band. Officially formed in 1991, Hypocrisy started as a solo project by Peter Tägtgren. After being influenced by the American death metal scene, he returned to Sweden and formed the band, and the rest is history. The first chapter of the reissue campaign begins with stylish vinyl and CD editions of 'Penetralia' (1992), 'Osculum Obscenum' (1993), 'The Fourth Dimension' (1994) and 'Abducted' (1996). Documenting the evolution from the violent and completely morbid Masse Broberg featured on the first two records, the highly revered opus 'The Fourth Dimension' which showed a darker and more melodic approach, up to 'Abducted' which includes the live staple 'Roswell 47', this first phase of Hypocrisy's career establishes the foundation of the Swedish band's sound.
