After the ambitious “A Distant (Dark) Source” (2018) and the subsequent artistic triumph of its live recording in 2021, French progressive metal band Hypno5e return with their sixth studio album. Once again, these four visionary musicians and cinematographers bring us back to "the lost shores of the palaeolithic Lake Tauca", where we delve deeper into its dark source to find vibrant visions of a memory both distant and hazy, but also warm and evocative. "Sheol" shows Hypno5e at the peak of their art, revealing the epitome of their idiosyncratic sound while exploring exciting new aspects of their artistic identity. On “Sheol,” the band sounds warmer and brighter than anywhere else in their discography. Hypno5e deliver stretched out compositions with modern metal riffs, massive grooves, layers of evocative vocals and hair-raising string sections.
