Chants courtois de l’Aurès unveils ten songs of men's love for women, whose singularity lies in being explicit. This is not about an ethereal ideal of a symbolic woman loved like the dew dreaming of the flower, but about Zina, Fatma, Louisa, Dalila, women of flesh and life. These songs express the jubilation of feeling, desire, and the attraction of bodies. Certainly, one hears the pain of absence, but this is not a poetry of unhappy loves: this repertoire is joyful, does not hold its head in its hands to weep. It describes amorous happiness, the happiness of loving a woman.
